Walsingham Youth Pilgrimage

Check out some of the highlights of the Walsingham Youth Pilgrimage 2024 featuring some of our young people. They had a blast!

Penrhys Pilgrimage

The Assumptiontide Weekend celebrations begins with pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Penrhys. Mass takes place on the mountain at 12 noon, followed by a picnic lunch (bring your own). Some people will be walking from Llanwonno Church across the mountain and valley, beginning at 9am.

You can listen to an interview from last year’s pilgrimage walk with Fr Dean and Matt Batten here:

Assumptiontide Celebrations

Join us on on Sunday 18th April from 6.30pm for a barbecue, followed by Vespers at 8.30pm, which moves us into the streets for a torchlight procession and Fireworks. We’ll be joined by people from across the Diocese and beyond. You can check out last year’s highlights here:

Farewell to Fr Edward

Thank you to everyone who contributed to Fr Edward’s leaving celebration and gifts last week. We assure him of our prayers and best wishes as he moves on to the next stage of his ministry

Mass changes

“Standing firm, united in spirit, and in mind, side by side in the struggle to advance the gospel faith” (Philippians 1:27)

You can read the letter from Fr Dean outlining some of the adaptations and changes as we meet with challenges and opportunities across the Ministry Area.

Ministry Updates

Following the most recent meeting of the Ministry Area Council, MA officers have met with Archdeacon Rod Green to agree a parish profile and job profile for the appointment of a Vicar for the Ministry Area. After a few extra items, the draft is now with the Archdeacon and we are waiting to see the final document. We shall keep you regularly updated about the timeline of advertising and interviews.

With the initial difficulties of finding available clergy to cover, it had been planned that the Sunday Eucharist at St Paul’s on the 18th August would have to be said rather than sung. However, at the last minute, we have found someone to cover that particular celebration and we are grateful to Fr Keith Kimber for his eagerness to help.
