This Week
We begin the week with Homelessness Sunday and launch our support of Llamau (a charity which works with young people and vulnerable women) and we end the week with the Walsingham October Devotions but there is also so much more from Harvest Lunches and Macmillan Coffee Mornings, to our promotions of the ‘Playlist for Life.’ Read on!

On Sunday 6 October, we commemorate Homelessness Sunday as we pray for all who are homeless, and those who work to support them, and share something of the work of Llamau whom we will be supporting over the next few months and into Advent and Christmas.
We’ll also be able to reveal news of a Memorial Service for those who have died homeless which will take place at St Mary’s at the end of November. You can check out more about Llamau and their vision to end homelessness here:
Walsingham October Devotions

Join us next Saturday 12 October as we welcome others to celebrate October Devotions to our Lady of Walsingham. It’s an ideal time to reconnect with other pilgrims, or get a taste of pilgrimage to Walsingham.
Bookings are also open for the Walsingham Pilgrimage 2025 which takes place from July 21- 24 2024. More details at the link below or you can book with Liz Norman, Georgina Partidge or Fr Dean
Harvest Celebrations

Thank you to everyone who made offerings for Cardiff Foodbank for our Harvest Thanksgiving. Our celebrations continue with two great Harvest Lunches, as well as School Harvest Celebrations.
The first is on Sunday October 20th at St Paul’s Church, and Saturday November 2 at Ss Dyfrig and Samson Church (£12 adults/ £6 children) Please get in touch with Cheryl at St Paul’s or Kath at Ss Dyfrig and Samson to find out more and book your seat at the table!
We also welcome St Paul’s Primary School for their Harvest Celebrations at St Paul’s Church at 1.30pm on Wednesday 9 October. They are also collecting items for Cardiff Foodbank
MacMillan Coffee Mornings

Thank you to all who have taken part in the Coffee Mornings at St Paul’s and St Mary’s over the last few weeks, as we raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The next Coffee Mornings take place after Mass on Sunday October 6 at St Saviours and Sunday October 13 at Ss Dyfrig and Samson
Playlist for Life
Over two decades of scientific research has shown that listening to a personalised playlist can improve the lives of those living with dementia. In fact, listening to music that is personally meaningful has many psychological benefits, meaning anyone can benefit from a playlist.
Playlist for Life is a music and dementia charity, founded by writer and broadcaster Sally Magnusson after the death of her mother who had dementia. Their vision is simple: for everyone with dementia to have a unique, personalised playlist and everyone who loves or cares for them to know how to use it.
If you’d like to help deliver the project in our Ministry Area then please speak to Fr Dean. You can find out more about Playlist for Life here:
Black History Month

October is Black History Month and there are many events and activities across Wales. We want to make sure that it is also marked in some way across the Ministry Area, so there will be prayers across our churches throughout the month.
We also have a few dates booked in the diary when you are invited to St Mary’s School for two Assemblies, one led by Fr Dean on Friday 11 October at 2pm when he will present an icon of St Martin de Porres to the school as a gift from St Mary’s Church, and on Monday 14 October at 2.30pm led by Mrs Prichard. If you would like to attend either of them, then please speak to Fr Dean so that we can inform the school.
