St Michael’s Banner

The parish grew in a great part to the existence of many guilds, small groups of people who gathered under a particular patronage and each with a different purpose.
The St Michael’s Banner was a gift of Fr Nicholson for the “Lad’s Communion Guild.” Many of Fr Nicholson’s gifts can be found within St Saviour’s, including the East Window and the small window of the Archangels (including St Michael) set into the south side of the sanctuary above the sacristy.
His name is particularly associated with St Francis’ Church and he oversaw it’s building. He left the parish to test his vocation to the Religious Life.
