Advent is a beautiful season which leads us onwards to Christmas and the celebration of the Birth of Christ. It is full of deep symbolism, powerful imagery and joyful anticipation.
Here you’ll find everything to help you get the most out of Advent and Christmas with an array of ideas and resources, including times of Masses across South Cardiff Ministry Area, right through to the Feast of the Epiphany.

‘Home for Christmas’
From Advent Sunday through to the feast of the Epiphany, we’ll be journeying with the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
As we draw closer to Christ, we’ll also be praying for and responding to the needs of those who seek a place to call home.
We’ll be raising funds for two charitable causes: Wallich and Croeso Butetown. Find out more here:

Advent Sunday
At the beginning of Advent we’ll be blessing and lighting the first candle of the Advent wreath.
But why not also prepare an Advent wreath for your own home? It can become a lovely focus for prayer during the Advent season, with the light brightening the closer we get to Christmas. Find out more here.

The Jesse Tree
During Advent, many of our churches see the emergence of the Jesse Tree which tells the story of our Salvation through the family tree of Jesus and the ways in which God has revealed himself to us in every generation.
This is also a lovely devotion for use in the home. In the Advent weeks before Christmas, instead of a Christmas Tree, why not create a Jesse Tree? Add a symbol each day and then, at Christmas, add lights and other decorations! Our Jesse Tree resource is available to download in the links below.

Advent Resources
We have lots more resources for Advent including daily prayers and reflections to help you get the most out of Advent!
