A place to meet people and explore life

Looking to meet people in Cardiff?
We run the Alpha Course, a free weekly evening for students just minutes from Cardiff Central and close to halls like The Bakery.
It’s a simple space to eat, meet others, and talk about life’s bigger questions—without pressure.
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of group conversations that explore the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment. Everyone’s welcome. No matter your background or beliefs, you’re invited. The most important part of any Alpha is open conversation about the week’s topic. You can share your thoughts and questions, or just see what other people made of it.
There’s no pressure to say anything or come to any conclusions – just a safe space for everyone’s unique perspective.
We’ll provide free food and drink.
Why students come
Some come because they’re curious about faith and have questions. A lot come because they want:
- to meet people beyond their flat or course
- something different from the usual student routine
- space to think about life’s questions
It’s a mix of people. Some arrive with friends, others on their own.
Close to where you live
We’re:
- 10 minutes from Cardiff Central station
- Near Cardiff and Vale College, Cardiff Bay and close to the Taff Embankment
- An easy walk from student accommodation including Unite Students The Bakery
No long travel. No complicated commitment.
What we talk about
Topics include:
- Is there more to life than this?
- Why do people believe in God?
- What gives life meaning?
You’re not expected to agree with anything. The point is conversation.
