Croeso Butetown is working with Citizens UK to welcome, home and support a refugee family under the UK’s Community Sponsorship Scheme.
Our Core Team consists of members of Tabernacl Church, St Mary’ Church and St Mary’s Primary School. Following many obstacles and delays over five years, we have now been accepted by the Home Office to
welcome a family.
We have raised over £13,000 and we are grateful to all who have contributed. We have already begun the very difficult task of finding a house to rent or buy in the Butetown area.
The amount the family will initially receive in housing benefits will be significantly less than the average rental costs.
This shortfall will be paid with money from our funds. This means we will need to begin
fundraising again so that we can support the family until they become settled and independent.

- Let us know of suitable houses to rent or buy in the Butetown area
- Donate to Croeso Butetown
- Donate household items (this need will be determined by the house we eventually find. For example, it may or may not be furnished. Please get in touch with us before donating)
- Register as a volunteer on our Fringe Group if you have particular gifts or skills which you may think are useful
