Death of a Loved One

In the midst of grief, we pray that you will know the comfort of God’s Spirit and the light of Christ, and the hope which comes from the message of eternal life.

Jesus said, Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father’s house there are many dwelling-places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.’  Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  (John 14:1-6)

Lord, in our grief we turn to you.
Are you not the God of love
always ready to hear our cries?
Listen to our prayers for ...
whom you have called from this world;
lead him/her to your Kingdom of light and peace
and count him/her among the saints in glory.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
  • We will pray each Sunday at the Mass, and through the week, for you and your departed loved one
  • Light a candle for your loved one
  • If the funeral is being led by one of our clergy, we can guide you through the funeral service

Please feel free to get in touch to find out more.
